2018 Chevrolet Tahoe — cheap project has enough margin to fix and resell? — Detroit owner question

HighwayDaily626Community StarterNov 24, 20252018 Chevrolet Tahoe LTDetroit
2018 Chevrolet Tahoe LT, about 56,000 miles. I found a running car with cosmetic damage and deferred maintenance at a low price. Before treating it as a flip, how do you budget hidden repairs, title/registration, taxes, transport and selling time? I am in Detroit.

I'd treat this like cash with a paper trail. Meet at a bank or dealer title office for the 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe, not a parking lot at night. Then you'll know the next fork. On “cheap project has enough margin to fix,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Do that first. That's my plan before I call anyone.

Private-party deals fail on paperwork, not vibes. Bill of sale, VIN, odometer, and names matching the title — I'd want all four on the 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe. That's where I'd start. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.

I'd treat this like cash with a paper trail. Bill of sale, VIN, odometer, and names matching the title — I'd want all four on the 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe. I'd do that before spending real money. On “cheap project has enough margin to fix,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe in Detroit with 56,000 miles. Just my two cents from doing this recently. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

PPI is scheduled. I'm not depositing until I see the 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe notes. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

Title status is the whole conversation. If the 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe still shows a lien, coordinate payoff with the lender before any cash changes hands. That's where I'd start. This is from a 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe in Detroit with 56,000 miles. That's the sequence I'd use. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Don't get cute with the meetup or the payment. Meet at a bank or dealer title office for the 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe, not a parking lot at night. Then you'll know the next fork. This is from a 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe in Detroit with 56,000 miles. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.
