Don't get cute with the meetup or the payment. Bill of sale, VIN, odometer, and names matching the title — I'd want all four on the 2018 Honda Civic. Then you'll know the next fork. This is from a 2018 Honda Civic in Baltimore with 79,500 miles. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Private-party deals fail on paperwork, not vibes. If the 2018 Honda Civic still shows a lien, coordinate payoff with the lender before any cash changes hands. Then you'll know the next fork. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Independent PPI on the 2018 Honda Civic is cheap insurance versus a seller who “already had a friend look at it.” That's where I'd start. On “dealer trade versus instant offer versus private,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Stop there until you know. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

Quick update: a second 2018 Honda Civic quote made the first offer look ordinary. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.

I'd treat this like cash with a paper trail. Independent PPI on the 2018 Honda Civic is cheap insurance versus a seller who “already had a friend look at it.” Then you'll know the next fork. Walked a dealership this week on the 2018 Honda Civic (79,500 miles) and the doc fee was the tell. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.
