2020 BMW M2 — buying a car 1,200 miles away without seeing it

DetailLearner158Community StarterAug 28, 20262020 BMW M2 CompetitionConnecticut
2020 BMW M2 Competition, about 32,000 miles. A hard-to-find spec is several states away. Dealer has provided video and history, but I have not seen it in person. What is the best remote-buy checklist before sending money?

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2020 BMW M2 numbers without them. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. Two 2020 BMW M2 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. That's the part that actually changes the decision. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2020 BMW M2 numbers without them. If they balk, that's your answer. On “buying a car 1,200 miles away without,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. I screenshotted the quote for later.

Agree — and I'd add this: GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2020 BMW M2 numbers without them. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “buying a car 1,200 miles away without,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Did the worksheet show tax yet? I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

If I were shopping this, in Connecticut, insurance quotes flipped a 2020 BMW M2 comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Was this after sitting overnight? This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Call your insurer in Connecticut before you fall in love with the 2020 BMW M2. If they balk, that's your answer. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.
