Don't get cute with the meetup or the payment. Bill of sale, VIN, odometer, and names matching the title — I'd want all four on the 2020 BMW M2. That's where I'd start. This is from a 2020 BMW M2 in Northern Virginia with 79,000 miles. Did the worksheet show tax yet? If the story changes I'll post the new data.

I'd treat this like cash with a paper trail. Independent PPI on the 2020 BMW M2 is cheap insurance versus a seller who “already had a friend look at it.” I'd do that before spending real money. On “ppi found $1,800 of upcoming work,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Private-party deals fail on paperwork, not vibes. If the 2020 BMW M2 still shows a lien, coordinate payoff with the lender before any cash changes hands. That's where I'd start. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.

Don't get cute with the meetup or the payment. Meet at a bank or dealer title office for the 2020 BMW M2, not a parking lot at night. I'd do that before spending real money. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Quick add on that: Meet at a bank or dealer title office for the 2020 BMW M2, not a parking lot at night. That's where I'd start. Was this after sitting overnight? If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Not convinced that's the whole story. Independent PPI on the 2020 BMW M2 is cheap insurance versus a seller who “already had a friend look at it.” That's where I'd start. Did the worksheet show tax yet? Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. I'll update if anything new shows up.

I'd treat this like cash with a paper trail. A rushed deposit before you can inspect the 2020 BMW M2 is enough reason to walk. Then you'll know the next fork. On “ppi found $1,800 of upcoming work,” that was the fork that mattered for me. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

OP here. Still looking, but I'm waiting on inspection notes before I send money on the 2020 BMW M2. If they only talk monthly I'm walking.

Title status is the whole conversation. Meet at a bank or dealer title office for the 2020 BMW M2, not a parking lot at night. Then you'll know the next fork. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Agree — and I'd add this: Meet at a bank or dealer title office for the 2020 BMW M2, not a parking lot at night. Then you'll know the next fork. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' This is the version I'd tell a friend.
