2020 BMW M2 — when does GAP actually make sense?

I am financing most of the purchase and depreciation could be steep early on. How do you decide whether GAP is worthwhile versus a larger down payment or buying coverage elsewhere?

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. In Chicago, insurance quotes flipped a 2020 BMW M2 comparison for me more than the sale price did. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Any freeze-frame data saved? That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2020 BMW M2 so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. Did the worksheet show tax yet? This is the version I'd tell a friend.

I'd push back a little: I would not wire money until I've seen the 2020 BMW M2 and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Then the comparison gets honest. Any freeze-frame data saved? I'll update if anything new shows up.

Agree — and I'd add this: A written buyer’s order on the 2020 BMW M2 is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “when does gap actually make sense,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. That's my plan before I call anyone.
