2021 BMW X5 — my model year is in a recall article but my VIN is not

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2021 BMW X5 owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. I'd do that before spending real money. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.
