2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 — buyer wants to pay with cashier check on a weekend

A buyer wants to meet Saturday when my bank is closed and use a cashier check. I am not accusing them of anything; I just want a payment method I can actually verify before signing over the car. I am in Brooklyn. Interested in real owner experience more than guesses.

Title status is the whole conversation. If the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 still shows a lien, coordinate payoff with the lender before any cash changes hands. Then you'll know the next fork. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. Going to re-read the worksheet tonight.

Title status is the whole conversation. Bill of sale, VIN, odometer, and names matching the title — I'd want all four on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Then you'll know the next fork. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

I'd push back a little: Meet at a bank or dealer title office for the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, not a parking lot at night. I'd do that before spending real money. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.

I'd treat this like cash with a paper trail. A rushed deposit before you can inspect the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is enough reason to walk. Then you'll know the next fork. On “buyer wants to pay with cashier check,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

I'd treat this like cash with a paper trail. If the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 still shows a lien, coordinate payoff with the lender before any cash changes hands. That's where I'd start. On “buyer wants to pay with cashier check,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 in Brooklyn. Do that first. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. I screenshotted the quote for later.

Not convinced that's the whole story. Independent PPI on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is cheap insurance versus a seller who “already had a friend look at it.” Then you'll know the next fork. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.
