2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ 6.2 — runs hotter sitting in traffic than moving

BoostedRider9Community StarterJun 13, 20262021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ 6.2Detroit
2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ 6.2, about 14,500 miles. Coolant temp climbs while idling with the A/C on, then drops back down once I'm moving. Coolant is full and I don't see a leak. Fans do run, but I'm not sure they're moving enough air. What would you test next? Trying to diagnose before I book a shop.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Log the conditions before you spend. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 does it — then decide on parts. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. On “runs hotter sitting in traffic than moving,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Stop there until you know. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. Trying not to diagnose from the couch.

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. Two 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500s can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. Trying not to diagnose from the couch.
