2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ 6.2 — silverado light-throttle shudder: engine or transmission?

At steady speed with light throttle I get a vibration that feels almost like driving over fine rumble strips. It disappears if I accelerate. What's the cleanest way to separate wheel/tire issues, cylinder-deactivation behavior and converter/transmission shudder?

Log the conditions before you spend. Move a coil or plug on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “silverado light-throttle shudder: engine or transmission,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 does it — then decide on parts. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “silverado light-throttle shudder: engine or transmission,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

OP here — recorded a short video and noted speed, temp, and whether it was in gear. Happens in gear, not in park, for what that's worth.

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Quick add on that: Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and see if the fault moves. Save the big job until that test fails. On “silverado light-throttle shudder: engine or transmission,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. If it repeats twice more I'll book time.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Was this after sitting overnight? If the story changes I'll post the new data.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. I'd rather pay for diagnosis than a second guess-repair.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. Save the big job until that test fails. When does it actually happen? Wrote this up on my lunch break.

It did silverado light-throttle shudder: engine or transmission twice this week, both times after sitting. No change in mileage feel. Trying not to diagnose from the couch.

If it were in my driveway, two 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500s can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. If that fails I'll eat the diagnostic fee.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. Save the big job until that test fails. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. Trying not to diagnose from the couch.
