2021 Honda CR-V — clutch engagement changed after a long traffic commute

This started as a small annoyance and I finally decided to track it down. After a hot stop-and-go commute the clutch engagement point felt different, but it returned to normal later. No slipping at full throttle. What would you inspect before assuming the clutch itself is failing? I am in Philadelphia. Mostly looking for the right next step.

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2021 Honda CR-V owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. That's where I'd start. Do that first. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2021 Honda CR-V, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. I'd do that before spending real money. Do that first. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2021 Honda CR-V in Philadelphia, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. That's where I'd start. On “v — clutch engagement changed after a,” that was the fork that mattered for me. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. That's my plan before I call anyone.
