1987 Porsche 911 — clutch engagement changed after a long traffic commute

This started as a small annoyance and I finally decided to track it down. After a hot stop-and-go commute the clutch engagement point felt different, but it returned to normal later. No slipping at full throttle. What would you inspect before assuming the clutch itself is failing? I am in Salt Lake City. If I figure it out I will update the thread.

I'd pick the setup I'll actually live with in slush. Watch brake clearance and overall diameter if you downsize winter wheels on the 1987 Porsche 911. I'd do that before spending real money. On “clutch engagement changed after a long traffic,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Was this after sitting overnight? Checking again after work.

Following up on clutch engagement changed after a long traffic: still happening, but I have better notes now. I refuse to clear codes until someone else sees them.

I'd pick the setup I'll actually live with in slush. If Salt Lake City only sees a few real storms, a good all-weather on the 1987 Porsche 911 can be the saner daily. I'd do that before spending real money. Stop there until you know. Checking again after work.

This is a climate question as much as a tire question. In Salt Lake City, dedicated winters on the 1987 Porsche 911 paid off more than I expected on ice, even on plowed roads. Then you'll know the next fork. This is from a 1987 Porsche 911 in Salt Lake City. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' I'll update if anything new shows up.
