2021 Honda CR-V EX-L — anyone else: CPO luxury SUV or brand-new mainstream SUV?

Budget works for either a lightly used luxury SUV or a new mainstream model with a full warranty. I'm more worried about three-to-five-year ownership cost and service downtime than the purchase price. How would you compare them? I'm in Dallas–Fort Worth. Appreciate any ideas on what to check first.

If I were shopping this, in Dallas–Fort Worth, insurance quotes flipped a 2021 Honda CR-V comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Was this after sitting overnight? Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. If one piece looks too good on the 2021 Honda CR-V, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. This is from a 2021 Honda CR-V in Dallas–Fort Worth. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. Make the next action something you can finish this week. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Ask for out-the-door on the 2021 Honda CR-V with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. If they balk, that's your answer. On “v ex-l — anyone else: cpo luxury,” that was the fork that mattered for me. The universe charges extra for guessing. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. That's my plan before I call anyone.
