2021 Honda CR-V EX-L — do shorter oil intervals actually make sense for my use?

Most of my driving is short trips with a lot of idling, but the factory interval is pretty long. I'd rather not waste oil, but I also plan to keep the car past 150k. How would you set an interval based on use instead of just mileage?

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2021 Honda CR-V before a big repair or a big spend. I'd do that before spending real money. Monthly payment math is how wallets disappear. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Agree — and I'd add this: A second data point from another 2021 Honda CR-V owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. Then you'll know the next fork. Parts cannon is a personality type I try to avoid. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.
