2022 Genesis GV70 3.5T — another software-related recall — are cars getting too centralized?

This newest recall looks like another case where a software/electronics fault affects a basic driving function. I like modern features, but it does make me wonder whether too many systems now depend on one screen/module. I'm in South Florida. If I fix it I'll come back and update the thread.

I parked the 2022 Genesis GV70 and wrote down what I already tested so I'm not repeating myself. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

I'd wait for the actual TSB/recall population, not the headline. On a 2022 Genesis GV70, I'd care more about the remedy and downtime than the press wording. That's where I'd start. Do that first. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

New-model numbers always look better than curb weight and tire size. On a 2022 Genesis GV70, I'd care more about the remedy and downtime than the press wording. Then you'll know the next fork. On “another software-related recall — are cars getting,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2022 Genesis GV70 in South Florida. Just my two cents from doing this recently. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Useful. I'll report back after I verify that on my 2022 Genesis GV70. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

I'd wait for the actual TSB/recall population, not the headline. Check whether your 2022 Genesis GV70 VIN is actually in the affected batch before you plan a dealer day. That's where I'd start. On “another software-related recall — are cars getting,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Was this after sitting overnight? That's my plan before I call anyone.

I'd wait for the actual TSB/recall population, not the headline. On a 2022 Genesis GV70, I'd care more about the remedy and downtime than the press wording. I'd do that before spending real money. This is from a 2022 Genesis GV70 in South Florida. That's the whole play. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.
