2022 Honda Accord — metallic rattle for a few seconds after cold start

TrackMechanicish862Community StarterNov 18, 20252022 Honda Accord 2.0T SportFlorida
2022 Honda Accord 2.0T Sport, about 15,000 miles. There is a short metallic rattle after the first cold start of the day, then it disappears once the engine settles. Warm restarts are quiet. Where would you start narrowing this down? I am in Florida.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Capture voltage while the 2022 Honda Accord is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. Save the big job until that test fails. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. No warning lights, which is why I'm documenting it.

I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. Two 2022 Honda Accords can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “metallic rattle for a few seconds after,” that was the fork that mattered for me. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Trying not to diagnose from the couch.

I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2022 Honda Accord, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. This is from a 2022 Honda Accord in Florida with 15,000 miles. When does it actually happen? I'll update if anything new shows up.

Yes, with one caveat: Get a real battery/charging test on the 2022 Honda Accord, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. That's the branch I'd chase this week. On “metallic rattle for a few seconds after,” that was the fork that mattered for me. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Next check is the cheap one I can do in a driveway.

Ask what changed right before it started. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2022 Honda Accord, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. Parking it somewhere I can hear it better next time.

Tried a second charger / second scan and the story on the 2022 Honda Accord didn't change. Checking again after work.
