2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE — windshield replaced — does camera calibration matter?

RoadMom737Community StarterNov 9, 20252022 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 4MATICSeattle
A new windshield is installed and there is no dash warning, but the shop recommends camera calibration. If the manufacturer procedure calls for it, would you do it even when lane-assist functions appear normal? I am in Seattle. I am trying to get the facts straight before spending money. What would you check next?

Log the conditions before you spend. Move a coil or plug on the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. On “benz gle — windshield replaced — does,” that was the fork that mattered for me. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. Checking again after work.

Yes, with one caveat: If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. Save the big job until that test fails. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. Capture voltage while the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. This is from a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE in Seattle. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. I refuse to clear codes until someone else sees them.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. I already checked the easy fluid levels.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. This is from a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE in Seattle. That's the sequence I'd use. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. No need to make it theatrical. Not driving it hard until I know more.
