2022 Volvo XC90 — should I negotiate the trade and purchase separately?

2022 Volvo XC90 Recharge, about 40,000 miles. I have a trade with some equity and I am buying another car. Dealer wants to talk only in payment numbers. Would you settle sale price first, then trade value, then financing so each piece stays visible?

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. Two 2022 Volvo XC90 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

Quick add on that: GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2022 Volvo XC90 numbers without them. If they balk, that's your answer. On “should i negotiate the trade and purchase,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2022 Volvo XC90 in Bay Area with 40,000 miles. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Ask for out-the-door on the 2022 Volvo XC90 with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. Do that before you talk monthly again. Stop there until you know. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2022 Volvo XC90 numbers without them. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “should i negotiate the trade and purchase,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.

This is from a 2022 Volvo XC90 in Bay Area with 40,000 miles. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. Not wiring anything in the meantime.

If I were shopping this, in Bay Area, insurance quotes flipped a 2022 Volvo XC90 comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Do that first. Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.
