2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 — huge doc fee: argue about fee or total price?

EVCommuterCommunity StarterJun 30, 20262023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 LimitedFlorida
2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Limited, about 31,000 miles. One dealer documentation fee is much higher than others nearby. Is it better to stop arguing about the label and just negotiate the overall out-the-door number? Mostly looking for the right next step.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. If one piece looks too good on the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Was this after sitting overnight? I'll update if anything new shows up.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. Ask for out-the-door on the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. If they balk, that's your answer. This is from a 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 in Florida with 31,000 miles. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. Going to re-read the worksheet tonight.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 price probably got worse. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 numbers without them. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “huge doc fee: argue about fee or,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

I would not stare at the monthly. In Florida, insurance quotes flipped a 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.

OP update: I got two written quotes on the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the out-the-door gap is bigger than the ads made it look. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

PPI is scheduled. I'm not depositing until I see the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 notes. Going to compare one more dealer before I decide.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 numbers without them. Do that before you talk monthly again. This is from a 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 in Florida with 31,000 miles. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

Update from me: I finally have sale price, fees, and trade on separate lines for the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5. Going to re-read the worksheet tonight.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 price probably got worse. That's the part that actually changes the decision. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. Make the next action something you can finish this week. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. Call your insurer in Florida before you fall in love with the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “huge doc fee: argue about fee or,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Fair point. Counterpoint: If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 price probably got worse. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Stop there until you know. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Quick update: a second 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 quote made the first offer look ordinary. That's my plan before I call anyone.

If I were shopping this, two 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. That's the part that actually changes the decision. This is from a 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 in Florida with 31,000 miles. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.

OP here. Still looking, but I'm waiting on inspection notes before I send money on the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.
