2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 — rebuilt-title price looks tempting

WrenchHunter732Community StarterMay 10, 20262023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 LimitedPhoenix
A rebuilt-title car is much cheaper than clean-title examples and appears professionally repaired. What should I think about beyond repair quality: insurance, financing, future resale and hidden damage?

I'd treat this like cash with a paper trail. A rushed deposit before you can inspect the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 is enough reason to walk. I'd do that before spending real money. On “rebuilt-title price looks tempting,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 in Phoenix. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

I'd treat this like cash with a paper trail. Meet at a bank or dealer title office for the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5, not a parking lot at night. Then you'll know the next fork. On “rebuilt-title price looks tempting,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. Private-party deals fail on paperwork, not vibes. If the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 still shows a lien, coordinate payoff with the lender before any cash changes hands. That's where I'd start. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.

Update from me: I finally have sale price, fees, and trade on separate lines for the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Don't get cute with the meetup or the payment. Bill of sale, VIN, odometer, and names matching the title — I'd want all four on the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5. That's where I'd start. This is from a 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 in Phoenix. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

I'd treat this like cash with a paper trail. Independent PPI on the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 is cheap insurance versus a seller who “already had a friend look at it.” Then you'll know the next fork. On “rebuilt-title price looks tempting,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

Title status is the whole conversation. Meet at a bank or dealer title office for the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5, not a parking lot at night. I'd do that before spending real money. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. Sleeping on the number either way.
