2023 Mercedes-AMG C43 — windshield replaced — does camera calibration matter?

DealTraveler677Community StarterJun 21, 20262023 Mercedes-AMG C43Philadelphia
2023 Mercedes-AMG C43, about 16,000 miles. A new windshield is installed and there is no dash warning, but the shop recommends camera calibration. If the manufacturer procedure calls for it, would you do it even when lane-assist functions appear normal? Interested in real owner experience more than guesses.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2023 Mercedes-AMG C43 before a big repair or a big spend. I'd do that before spending real money. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2023 Mercedes-AMG C43, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. That's where I'd start. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Quick add on that: A second data point from another 2023 Mercedes-AMG C43 owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. Then you'll know the next fork. This is from a 2023 Mercedes-AMG C43 in Philadelphia with 16,000 miles. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2023 Mercedes-AMG C43 in Philadelphia, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. That's where I'd start. On “amg c43 — windshield replaced — does,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. That's my plan before I call anyone.

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2023 Mercedes-AMG C43 owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. That's where I'd start. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. I'd rather be boring and correct. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Wrote this up on my lunch break.
