2023 Toyota 4Runner — going one inch smaller for winter wheels

CanyonSeller103Community StarterSep 4, 20262023 Toyota 4Runner TRD ProSeattle
2023 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro, about 23,500 miles. I want smaller winter wheels for more sidewall. Overall tire diameter can stay close, but I am worried about caliper and spoke clearance. What measurements should be checked before ordering? Interested in real owner experience more than guesses.

If it were in my driveway, move a coil or plug on the 2023 Toyota 4Runner if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. This is from a 2023 Toyota 4Runner in Seattle with 23,500 miles. That's the whole play. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. Next check is the cheap one I can do in a driveway.

Ask what changed right before it started. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2023 Toyota 4Runner is losing coolant with no puddle. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. I keep a notes app thread for this now.
