2024 Audi Q5 — dedicated winter tires or modern all-weather tires?

2024 Audi Q5 Premium Plus, about 30,000 miles. Most roads are plowed quickly, but there are cold wet days, slush and a handful of serious storms. For a daily driver, where is the line where dedicated winters become worth storing? I am in Sacramento.

Asking because it changes the advice: Watch brake clearance and overall diameter if you downsize winter wheels on the 2024 Audi Q5. That's where I'd start. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. Happens in gear, not in park, for what that's worth.

This is a climate question as much as a tire question. In Sacramento, dedicated winters on the 2024 Audi Q5 paid off more than I expected on ice, even on plowed roads. That's where I'd start. On “dedicated winter tires or modern all-weather tires,” that was the fork that mattered for me. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. That's my plan before I call anyone.

I'd pick the setup I'll actually live with in slush. If Sacramento only sees a few real storms, a good all-weather on the 2024 Audi Q5 can be the saner daily. Then you'll know the next fork. Stop there until you know. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. Checking again after work.
