2024 BMW i4 — eV has plenty of main battery but shows a 12V warning — second opinion before I spend money

2024 BMW i4 eDrive40, about 23,500 miles. Traction battery is charged, but a low-voltage warning appeared after the car sat overnight. I know the small battery can still immobilize an EV. What information would you capture before service?

Charge curves lie if you don't match starting SOC and temp. Match starting SOC and battery temp if you're comparing 2024 BMW i4 charge sessions. I'd do that before spending real money. No need to make it theatrical. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

OP update: scanned the 2024 BMW i4 again and still only have the one pending code, no new lights. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Low-voltage gremlins will strand you even with a full pack. Try a second charger before blaming the 2024 BMW i4 — site sharing and pack temp change the curve a lot. Then you'll know the next fork. This is from a 2024 BMW i4 in Bay Area with 23,500 miles. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Don't clear the alert just to make the screen pretty. Leave the alerts on the 2024 BMW i4 so service can see what you saw. Then you'll know the next fork. This is from a 2024 BMW i4 in Bay Area with 23,500 miles. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. I keep a notes app thread for this now.

Agree — and I'd add this: On the 2024 BMW i4, I'd get the 12V/DC-DC side checked even if the traction pack looks fine. I'd do that before spending real money. On “ev has plenty of main battery but,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.
