2024 Buick Envision Avenir — anyone else: Small oil leak or just old residue?

2024 Buick Envision Avenir, about 78,000 miles. There is a damp area around the lower side of the engine but nothing reaches the ground overnight. I cleaned it once and it slowly came back. What's the best way to trace whether this is an active leak versus years of grime? Trying to diagnose before I book a shop.

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. Capture voltage while the 2024 Buick Envision is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. If it were in my driveway, write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2024 Buick Envision does it — then decide on parts. That's the branch I'd chase this week. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. Heat soak after errands is the other window.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2024 Buick Envision catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. Tried a second charger / second scan and the story on the 2024 Buick Envision didn't change. Checking again after work.
