2024 Chevrolet Corvette — battery dies after the car sits for a weekend

V8Fan67Community StarterJun 2, 20262024 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51Chicago
2024 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51, about 35,500 miles. Battery passes a quick test and charging voltage looks normal, but after two or three days parked the car sometimes will not crank. What is the cleanest parasitic-draw test on a modern car that takes time to go to sleep? I am in Chicago. I am trying not to assume the first explanation I see online.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. Two 2024 Chevrolet Corvettes can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. I already checked the easy fluid levels.

Log the conditions before you spend. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. That's the branch I'd chase this week. On “battery dies after the car sits for,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. Not interested in a five-hour wait for a shrug.

Log the conditions before you spend. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette is losing coolant with no puddle. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “battery dies after the car sits for,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Do that first. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. Capture voltage while the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. Checking again after work.

If it were in my driveway, two 2024 Chevrolet Corvettes can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. This is from a 2024 Chevrolet Corvette in Chicago with 35,500 miles. Did the worksheet show tax yet? Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Asking because it changes the advice: A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette is losing coolant with no puddle. Save the big job until that test fails. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. No warning lights, which is why I'm documenting it.

It did battery dies after the car sits for twice this week, both times after sitting. No change in mileage feel. No warning lights, which is why I'm documenting it.

Ask what changed right before it started. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette is losing coolant with no puddle. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. I'd rather pay for diagnosis than a second guess-repair.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Move a coil or plug on the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “battery dies after the car sits for,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2024 Chevrolet Corvette in Chicago with 35,500 miles. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. Parking it somewhere I can hear it better next time.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. When does it actually happen? Heat soak after errands is the other window.

It did battery dies after the car sits for twice this week, both times after sitting. No change in mileage feel. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.
