2024 Land Rover Defender 110 P400 — anyone else: Another software-related recall — are cars getting too centralized?

This newest recall looks like another case where a software/electronics fault affects a basic driving function. I like modern features, but it does make me wonder whether too many systems now depend on one screen/module. Any data points from owners would help. Ambient temp was about 58°F when I noticed it.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2024 Land Rover Defender in Florida, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. Then you'll know the next fork. On “anyone else: another software-related recall — are,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. That's my plan before I call anyone.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2024 Land Rover Defender before a big repair or a big spend. That's where I'd start. This is from a 2024 Land Rover Defender in Florida. Do that first. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2024 Land Rover Defender, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. That's where I'd start. Just my two cents from doing this recently. Make the next action something you can finish this week. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. Make the next action something you can finish this week. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Asking because it changes the advice: If it still isn't clear on the 2024 Land Rover Defender, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. I'd do that before spending real money. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2024 Land Rover Defender owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. That's where I'd start. Do that first. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

I'd push back a little: Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2024 Land Rover Defender before a big repair or a big spend. That's where I'd start. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. I'll update if anything new shows up.

I parked the 2024 Land Rover Defender and wrote down what I already tested so I'm not repeating myself. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Thanks — that narrowed it. I'm going to try the simpler check on the 2024 Land Rover Defender first. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Following up on anyone else: another software-related recall — are: still happening, but I have better notes now. Wrote this up on my lunch break.
