2024 Land Rover Defender — my model year is in a recall article but my VIN is not

OldSchoolNerdCommunity StarterJul 26, 20262024 Land Rover Defender 110 P400New Jersey
2024 Land Rover Defender 110 P400, about 32,500 miles. News says my model year is involved, but the VIN lookup shows no open recall. Is that usually because only certain build ranges are affected, or can the databases lag?

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2024 Land Rover Defender is losing coolant with no puddle. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' I'll poke at it this weekend.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2024 Land Rover Defender catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. Save the big job until that test fails. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2024 Land Rover Defender does it — then decide on parts. That's the branch I'd chase this week. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. I keep a notes app thread for this now.

Agree — and I'd add this: Two 2024 Land Rover Defenders can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. That's the branch I'd chase this week. This is from a 2024 Land Rover Defender in New Jersey with 32,500 miles. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

OP update: scanned the 2024 Land Rover Defender again and still only have the one pending code, no new lights. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Log the conditions before you spend. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2024 Land Rover Defender does it — then decide on parts. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “my model year is in a recall,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2024 Land Rover Defender in New Jersey with 32,500 miles. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. Video is ugly but it shows the hesitation.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2024 Land Rover Defender and see if the fault moves. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. That's my plan before I call anyone.

Tried a second charger / second scan and the story on the 2024 Land Rover Defender didn't change. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Two 2024 Land Rover Defenders can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. That's the branch I'd chase this week. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2024 Land Rover Defender, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. Save the big job until that test fails. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. I'll update if anything new shows up.

If it were in my driveway, get a real battery/charging test on the 2024 Land Rover Defender, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Cleared nothing. I want service to see the alert on the 2024 Land Rover Defender first. Cold start is when I can actually reproduce it.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Move a coil or plug on the 2024 Land Rover Defender if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows.
