2024 Ram 1500 Limited — question: Intermittent metallic rattle after cold start

2024 Ram 1500 Limited, about 1,200 miles. For the first few seconds after a cold start I hear a metallic rattle, then it disappears and won't come back once the engine is warm. No warning lights and it drives normally. Has anyone chased something like this without just replacing random parts? Trying to diagnose before I book a shop.

Tried a second charger / second scan and the story on the 2024 Ram 1500 didn't change. Not driving it hard until I know more.

Fair point. Counterpoint: A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2024 Ram 1500 is losing coolant with no puddle. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. Make the next action something you can finish this week. Only after sitting overnight so far.

It did question: intermittent metallic rattle after cold start twice this week, both times after sitting. No change in mileage feel. Heat soak after errands is the other window.

If it were in my driveway, swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2024 Ram 1500 and see if the fault moves. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Just my two cents from doing this recently. Trying not to diagnose from the couch.

Yes, with one caveat: If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2024 Ram 1500, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “question: intermittent metallic rattle after cold start,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Stop there until you know. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. Video is ugly but it shows the hesitation.
