2025 BMW M3 — factory order status has not moved in weeks — second opinion before I spend money

RoadDailyCommunity StarterFeb 4, 20262025 BMW M3 CompetitionPennsylvania
2025 BMW M3 Competition, about 20,500 miles. Dealer gave me an order/reference number but the status has been unchanged for weeks. For people who have ordered cars, what updates are meaningful versus normal waiting between milestones? I am in Pennsylvania.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. In Pennsylvania, insurance quotes flipped a 2025 BMW M3 comparison for me more than the sale price did. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. A written buyer’s order on the 2025 BMW M3 is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” If they balk, that's your answer. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. I'll post OTD once I have two apples-to-apples sheets.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. Call your insurer in Pennsylvania before you fall in love with the 2025 BMW M3. If they balk, that's your answer. Was this after sitting overnight? Sleeping on the number either way.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2025 BMW M3 so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. Do that before you talk monthly again. Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. Two 2025 BMW M3 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. In Pennsylvania, insurance quotes flipped a 2025 BMW M3 comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. This is from a 2025 BMW M3 in Pennsylvania with 20,500 miles. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Call your insurer in Pennsylvania before you fall in love with the 2025 BMW M3. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “factory order status has not moved in,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2025 BMW M3 in Pennsylvania with 20,500 miles. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2025 BMW M3 and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Just my two cents from doing this recently. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: Ask for out-the-door on the 2025 BMW M3 with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “factory order status has not moved in,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Do that first. I screenshotted the quote for later.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. A written buyer’s order on the 2025 BMW M3 is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” Do that before you talk monthly again. On “factory order status has not moved in,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2025 BMW M3 in Pennsylvania with 20,500 miles. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2025 BMW M3 price probably got worse. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

OP here. Still looking, but I'm waiting on inspection notes before I send money on the 2025 BMW M3. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

Coming back with numbers — insurance in Pennsylvania changed the 2025 BMW M3 comparison more than the sale price did. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.
