2025 Honda Civic — factory order status has not moved in weeks

ShiftDIYerCommunity StarterJan 13, 20262025 Honda Civic Sport Touring HybridCalifornia
Dealer gave me an order/reference number but the status has been unchanged for weeks. For people who have ordered cars, what updates are meaningful versus normal waiting between milestones?

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2025 Honda Civic price probably got worse. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Stop there until you know. Not wiring anything in the meantime.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: Call your insurer in California before you fall in love with the 2025 Honda Civic. If they balk, that's your answer. On “factory order status has not moved in,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2025 Honda Civic in California. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. That's my plan before I call anyone.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2025 Honda Civic price probably got worse. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. This is from a 2025 Honda Civic in California. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2025 Honda Civic so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. On “factory order status has not moved in,” that was the fork that mattered for me. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

Agree — and I'd add this: Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2025 Honda Civic so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. Sleeping on the number either way.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. If one piece looks too good on the 2025 Honda Civic, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. This is from a 2025 Honda Civic in California. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. I'll update if anything new shows up.
