2025 Lucid Air — dealer lowered price but added accessories back in

TruckLearner956Community StarterAug 6, 20262025 Lucid Air PureCleveland
We agreed on a vehicle price, then the worksheet included dealer-installed products I did not ask for. The total is now higher than before. What is the cleanest way to negotiate from an out-the-door number?

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2025 Lucid Air price probably got worse. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. If they only talk monthly I'm walking.

Update from me: I finally have sale price, fees, and trade on separate lines for the 2025 Lucid Air. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2025 Lucid Air numbers without them. Do that before you talk monthly again. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

I asked about dealer lowered price but added accessories back again and they still won't put GAP/add-ons on their own lines. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. In Cleveland, insurance quotes flipped a 2025 Lucid Air comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. That's the whole play. If they only talk monthly I'm walking.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: Call your insurer in Cleveland before you fall in love with the 2025 Lucid Air. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “dealer lowered price but added accessories back,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. I screenshotted the quote for later.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. A written buyer’s order on the 2025 Lucid Air is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” If they balk, that's your answer. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. Call your insurer in Cleveland before you fall in love with the 2025 Lucid Air. If they balk, that's your answer. On “dealer lowered price but added accessories back,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2025 Lucid Air in Cleveland. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.

Coming back with numbers — insurance in Cleveland changed the 2025 Lucid Air comparison more than the sale price did. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. Ask for out-the-door on the 2025 Lucid Air with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “dealer lowered price but added accessories back,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2025 Lucid Air in Cleveland. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. Two 2025 Lucid Air quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. I'll update if anything new shows up.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. If one piece looks too good on the 2025 Lucid Air, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Stop there until you know. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

I'd push back a little: If one piece looks too good on the 2025 Lucid Air, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Then the comparison gets honest. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

OP here. Still looking, but I'm waiting on inspection notes before I send money on the 2025 Lucid Air. Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.

Quick update: a second 2025 Lucid Air quote made the first offer look ordinary. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

Fair point. Counterpoint: In Cleveland, insurance quotes flipped a 2025 Lucid Air comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.

Yes, with one caveat: Call your insurer in Cleveland before you fall in love with the 2025 Lucid Air. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “dealer lowered price but added accessories back,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Stop there until you know. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2025 Lucid Air numbers without them. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Do that first. I'd rather be boring and correct. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2025 Lucid Air and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Then the comparison gets honest. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. Make the next action something you can finish this week. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.
