Anyone else: Clunk over small sharp bumps but not big ones

RustRoadie2Community StarterAug 15, 20262022 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 4MATICCentral Florida
2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 4MATIC, about 118,000 miles. There is a single clunk from the front over small potholes and driveway edges. Big smooth bumps don't reproduce it. End links look intact. Any good way to isolate strut mount vs sway-bar link vs control-arm bushing? I'm in Central Florida. Appreciate any ideas on what to check first.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE in Central Florida, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. That's where I'd start. On “clunk over small sharp bumps but not,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE in Central Florida with 118,000 miles. The universe charges extra for guessing. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Useful. I'll report back after I verify that on my 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. Then you'll know the next fork. The universe charges extra for guessing. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE before a big repair or a big spend. Then you'll know the next fork. Was this after sitting overnight? Doing the boring step first on purpose.
