Cleaning the hybrid battery cooling fan — worth doing preventively?

Car is used in a dusty environment and has pets in it regularly. I've read about battery cooling fans getting dirty. Is inspecting/cleaning it a reasonable preventive job or better left alone without symptoms? Appreciate any ideas on what to check first.

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2025 Honda Civic owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. That's where I'd start. The universe charges extra for guessing. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2025 Honda Civic before a big repair or a big spend. I'd do that before spending real money. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Yes, with one caveat: On the 2025 Honda Civic in Chicago, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. That's where I'd start. On “worth doing preventively,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2025 Honda Civic in Chicago. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. Wrote this up on my lunch break.
