Need advice: Another software-related recall — are cars getting too centralized?

This newest recall looks like another case where a software/electronics fault affects a basic driving function. I like modern features, but it does make me wonder whether too many systems now depend on one screen/module. Trying to diagnose before I book a shop.

I'd wait for the actual TSB/recall population, not the headline. Check whether your 2021 Range Rover Sport VIN is actually in the affected batch before you plan a dealer day. That's where I'd start. On “another software-related recall — are cars getting,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

New-model numbers always look better than curb weight and tire size. Check whether your 2021 Range Rover Sport VIN is actually in the affected batch before you plan a dealer day. Then you'll know the next fork. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

I'd wait for the actual TSB/recall population, not the headline. Check whether your 2021 Range Rover Sport VIN is actually in the affected batch before you plan a dealer day. I'd do that before spending real money. On “another software-related recall — are cars getting,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. That's my plan before I call anyone.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. If this is a 2027 reveal, I wouldn't map it onto today's 2021 Range Rover Sport ownership costs yet. That's where I'd start. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. I'll update if anything new shows up.
