Need advice: Car hesitates once, then drives normally

CityBuilder25Community StarterFeb 7, 20262022 Cadillac Escalade SportSalt Lake City
2022 Cadillac Escalade Sport, about 118,000 miles. Every few days I get a brief hesitation pulling away from a stop. It feels like the engine cuts power for half a second and then everything is normal. No stored light on the dash. Wondering what live data would be worth logging. Any data points from owners would help.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Two 2022 Cadillac Escalades can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. Checking again after work.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2022 Cadillac Escalade, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Log the conditions before you spend. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2022 Cadillac Escalade is losing coolant with no puddle. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. On “car hesitates once, then drives normally,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. Next check is the cheap one I can do in a driveway.

If it were in my driveway, get a real battery/charging test on the 2022 Cadillac Escalade, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. The universe charges extra for guessing. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Ask what changed right before it started. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2022 Cadillac Escalade and see if the fault moves. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. This is from a 2022 Cadillac Escalade in Salt Lake City with 118,000 miles. Parts cannon is a personality type I try to avoid. Trying not to diagnose from the couch.

I'd push back a little: A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2022 Cadillac Escalade is losing coolant with no puddle. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. I'll poke at it this weekend.

Quick add on that: Capture voltage while the 2022 Cadillac Escalade is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. Save the big job until that test fails. Stop there until you know. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. No warning lights, which is why I'm documenting it.
