Need advice: Should I service 'lifetime' transmission fluid?

ApexGuy71Community StarterJul 8, 20262025 Lexus NX 350hConnecticut
2025 Lexus NX 350h, about 4,800 miles. Manual says the transmission fluid is lifetime under normal use, but the car is approaching 80k miles and I plan to keep it a long time. Curious what owners are actually doing and whether drain/fill versus exchange matters. If I fix it I'll come back and update the thread.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Capture voltage while the 2025 Lexus NX is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. On “should i service 'lifetime' transmission fluid,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2025 Lexus NX, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Parts cannon is a personality type I try to avoid. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. No warning lights, which is why I'm documenting it.

Yes, with one caveat: Get a real battery/charging test on the 2025 Lexus NX, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Parts cannon is a personality type I try to avoid. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

It did should i service 'lifetime' transmission fluid twice this week, both times after sitting. No change in mileage feel. If it repeats twice more I'll book time.
