Physical buttons are disappearing again — good or bad?

CleanHunterCommunity StarterJul 27, 20262025 Lexus NX 350hDetroit
Automakers keep moving basic controls between touchscreens and physical buttons depending on the generation. What controls do you absolutely want to remain physical? I'd rather test this logically than start replacing parts.

I would not stare at the monthly. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2025 Lexus NX and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Then the comparison gets honest. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Call your insurer in Detroit before you fall in love with the 2025 Lexus NX. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. In Detroit, insurance quotes flipped a 2025 Lexus NX comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: A written buyer’s order on the 2025 Lexus NX is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” If they balk, that's your answer. On “good or bad,” that was the fork that mattered for me. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Not convinced that's the whole story. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2025 Lexus NX and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. This is from a 2025 Lexus NX in Detroit. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. Call your insurer in Detroit before you fall in love with the 2025 Lexus NX. If they balk, that's your answer. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

I would not stare at the monthly. If one piece looks too good on the 2025 Lexus NX, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Then the comparison gets honest. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. Call your insurer in Detroit before you fall in love with the 2025 Lexus NX. If they balk, that's your answer. On “good or bad,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

If I were shopping this, i would not wire money until I've seen the 2025 Lexus NX and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2025 Lexus NX numbers without them. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. This is from a 2025 Lexus NX in Detroit. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. Sleeping on the number either way.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2025 Lexus NX so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “good or bad,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

Quick add on that: Call your insurer in Detroit before you fall in love with the 2025 Lexus NX. If they balk, that's your answer. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Going to re-read the worksheet tonight.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2025 Lexus NX price probably got worse. Then the comparison gets honest. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Going to compare one more dealer before I decide.

Update from me: I finally have sale price, fees, and trade on separate lines for the 2025 Lexus NX. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

OP update: I got two written quotes on the 2025 Lexus NX and the out-the-door gap is bigger than the ads made it look. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

Asking because it changes the advice: I would not wire money until I've seen the 2025 Lexus NX and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Then the comparison gets honest. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. In Detroit, insurance quotes flipped a 2025 Lexus NX comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. Two 2025 Lexus NX quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. Call your insurer in Detroit before you fall in love with the 2025 Lexus NX. Do that before you talk monthly again.
