Question: Another software-related recall — are cars getting too centralized?

2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ 6.2, about 1,200 miles. This newest recall looks like another case where a software/electronics fault affects a basic driving function. I like modern features, but it does make me wonder whether too many systems now depend on one screen/module. Trying to diagnose before I book a shop. Ambient temp was about 92°F when I noticed it.

Software recalls make me ask how much of 'driving' lives in a module now. If this is a 2027 reveal, I wouldn't map it onto today's 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ownership costs yet. Then you'll know the next fork. On “another software-related recall — are cars getting,” that was the fork that mattered for me. That's the whole play. This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. Wrote this up on my lunch break.
