Question: Best road-trip car you have actually owned

ShiftBuilderCommunity StarterJul 13, 20262022 BMW X3 M40iAtlanta
2022 BMW X3 M40i, about 22,000 miles. Not asking for magazine picks. Which car you've personally owned was best for long-distance driving once you factor seats, range, noise, cargo, driver assists and fatigue? If I fix it I'll come back and update the thread.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2022 BMW X3 in Atlanta, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. Then you'll know the next fork. On “best road-trip car you have actually owned,” that was the fork that mattered for me. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2022 BMW X3 in Atlanta, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. I'd do that before spending real money. On “best road-trip car you have actually owned,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2022 BMW X3 in Atlanta with 22,000 miles. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Not convinced that's the whole story. If it still isn't clear on the 2022 BMW X3, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. Then you'll know the next fork. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Following up on best road-trip car you have actually owned: still happening, but I have better notes now. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.
