Question: Cleaning the hybrid battery cooling fan — worth doing preventively?

2025 Honda Civic Sport Touring Hybrid, about 78,000 miles. Car is used in a dusty environment and has pets in it regularly. I've read about battery cooling fans getting dirty. Is inspecting/cleaning it a reasonable preventive job or better left alone without symptoms? I'd rather test this logically than start replacing parts.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. Two 2025 Honda Civic quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Then the comparison gets honest. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2025 Honda Civic numbers without them. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “cleaning the hybrid battery cooling fan —,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. Two 2025 Honda Civic quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Then the comparison gets honest. Did the worksheet show tax yet? Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Ask for out-the-door on the 2025 Honda Civic with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “cleaning the hybrid battery cooling fan —,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Monthly payment math is how wallets disappear. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

If I were shopping this, in Bay Area, insurance quotes flipped a 2025 Honda Civic comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. I'll update if anything new shows up.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2025 Honda Civic numbers without them. If they balk, that's your answer. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.
