Question: Coolant is old by time but low mileage

V8RoadieCommunity StarterJul 18, 20262022 Honda Accord 2.0T SportCentral Florida
Car only has 32k miles but the coolant is several years old. Would you change it based on age alone? I'm trying to prioritize maintenance that matters rather than replacing everything early.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. Two 2022 Honda Accord quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. Two 2022 Honda Accord quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Then the comparison gets honest. Parts cannon is a personality type I try to avoid. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Walked a dealership this week on the 2022 Honda Accord and the doc fee was the tell. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. Ask for out-the-door on the 2022 Honda Accord with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. If they balk, that's your answer. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. I'll post OTD once I have two apples-to-apples sheets.

Not convinced that's the whole story. In Central Florida, insurance quotes flipped a 2022 Honda Accord comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: A written buyer’s order on the 2022 Honda Accord is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” Do that before you talk monthly again. On “coolant is old by time but low,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2022 Honda Accord in Central Florida. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

PPI is scheduled. I'm not depositing until I see the 2022 Honda Accord notes. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: Call your insurer in Central Florida before you fall in love with the 2022 Honda Accord. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “coolant is old by time but low,” that was the fork that mattered for me. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. Ask for out-the-door on the 2022 Honda Accord with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “coolant is old by time but low,” that was the fork that mattered for me. That's the whole play. I screenshotted the quote for later.

Fair point. Counterpoint: In Central Florida, insurance quotes flipped a 2022 Honda Accord comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2022 Honda Accord and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Then the comparison gets honest. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. If they only talk monthly I'm walking.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2022 Honda Accord price probably got worse. That's the part that actually changes the decision. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2022 Honda Accord and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Then the comparison gets honest. This is from a 2022 Honda Accord in Central Florida. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2022 Honda Accord numbers without them. If they balk, that's your answer. This is from a 2022 Honda Accord in Central Florida. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2022 Honda Accord and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Just my two cents from doing this recently. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2022 Honda Accord so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. On “coolant is old by time but low,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2022 Honda Accord in Central Florida. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. That's my plan before I call anyone.

Quick update: a second 2022 Honda Accord quote made the first offer look ordinary. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2022 Honda Accord so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Stop there until you know. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. Going to re-read the worksheet tonight.
