Question: Hybrid MPG suddenly down with no warning lights

2024 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV SEL, about 78,000 miles. Same commute, same driver, but average MPG dropped pretty sharply over the last month. Tire pressure is good. What hybrid-specific things are worth checking before assuming the battery is getting weak? I'm in Florida. If I fix it I'll come back and update the thread.

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. I'd do that before spending real money. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. That's where I'd start. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander in Florida, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. Then you'll know the next fork. On “hybrid mpg suddenly down with no warning,” that was the fork that mattered for me. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander before a big repair or a big spend. I'd do that before spending real money. This is from a 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander in Florida with 78,000 miles. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. Doing the boring step first on purpose.
