Silverado light-throttle shudder: engine or transmission?

BoostedDetailerCommunity StarterJul 4, 20262021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ 6.2DMV / Maryland
2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ 6.2, about 78,000 miles. At steady speed with light throttle I get a vibration that feels almost like driving over fine rumble strips. It disappears if I accelerate. What's the cleanest way to separate wheel/tire issues, cylinder-deactivation behavior and converter/transmission shudder? Any data points from owners would help.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 does it — then decide on parts. That's the branch I'd chase this week. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. I'd rather be boring and correct. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Move a coil or plug on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Save the big job until that test fails. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. If it repeats twice more I'll book time.

Log the conditions before you spend. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 does it — then decide on parts. Save the big job until that test fails. On “throttle shudder: engine or transmission,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. Not driving it hard until I know more.

OP update: scanned the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 again and still only have the one pending code, no new lights. I refuse to clear codes until someone else sees them.

If it were in my driveway, loaded-suspension checks on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. If the story changes I'll post the new data.
