1968 Ford Mustang — single-cylinder misfire comes and goes

BoostGuy18Community StarterApr 27, 20261968 Ford Mustang FastbackBrooklyn
1968 Ford Mustang Fastback, about 252,500 miles. A cylinder-specific misfire code appeared after one rough start, then cleared and the engine feels normal. Plugs are not very old. Would you swap coils, inspect plugs, look at injector data, or wait for it to return? Mostly looking for the right next step.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Move a coil or plug on the 1968 Ford Mustang if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. On “single-cylinder misfire comes and goes,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. If that fails I'll eat the diagnostic fee.
