I just crossed 50k miles and want to log maintenance, unscheduled repairs, tire life, fuel economy, dealer visits, annoyances and whether I would buy the same car again.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 1970 Datsun 240Z so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. This is from a 1970 Datsun 240Z in Chicago. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. I'll post OTD once I have two apples-to-apples sheets.

On “50,000-mile ownership report: what actually broke,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

Asking because it changes the advice: If one piece looks too good on the 1970 Datsun 240Z, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. I'll update if anything new shows up.
