1972 Chevrolet C10 — no crank with full dash power, then it starts later

Twice I have had full lights and accessories but no crank. After waiting a few minutes it starts normally. Battery terminals look clean. What would you want to measure during the actual failure?

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 1972 Chevrolet C10 and see if the fault moves. That's the branch I'd chase this week. This is from a 1972 Chevrolet C10 in Salt Lake City. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Quick add on that: Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 1972 Chevrolet C10 does it — then decide on parts. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “no crank with full dash power, then,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Trying not to diagnose from the couch.
