1987 Porsche 911 — new tires are much louder than the old set

Same size and pressure, but the new tires create noticeably more highway hum. Is this usually tread pattern/compound, or should I verify balance and alignment before blaming the tire model?

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 1987 Porsche 911, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. I'd do that before spending real money. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. Make the next action something you can finish this week. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Following up on new tires are much louder than the: still happening, but I have better notes now. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.
