2007 Porsche Cayman — seller will not allow a pre-purchase inspection

SunBeltGal712Community StarterSep 30, 20252007 Porsche Cayman SConnecticut
2007 Porsche Cayman S, about 205,000 miles. Car looks clean and the price is fair, but seller says they do not have time for a PPI because other buyers are interested. Would you treat that as an automatic walk-away? I am in Connecticut.

Don't get cute with the meetup or the payment. A rushed deposit before you can inspect the 2007 Porsche Cayman is enough reason to walk. Then you'll know the next fork. This is from a 2007 Porsche Cayman in Connecticut with 205,000 miles. Was this after sitting overnight? That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

Title status is the whole conversation. A rushed deposit before you can inspect the 2007 Porsche Cayman is enough reason to walk. That's where I'd start. That's the sequence I'd use. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Don't get cute with the meetup or the payment. A rushed deposit before you can inspect the 2007 Porsche Cayman is enough reason to walk. I'd do that before spending real money. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

I'd treat this like cash with a paper trail. A rushed deposit before you can inspect the 2007 Porsche Cayman is enough reason to walk. I'd do that before spending real money. On “seller will not allow a pre-purchase inspection,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Any freeze-frame data saved? This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. Bill of sale, VIN, odometer, and names matching the title — I'd want all four on the 2007 Porsche Cayman. I'd do that before spending real money. When does it actually happen? I'll update if anything new shows up.

Quick update: a second 2007 Porsche Cayman quote made the first offer look ordinary. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

Update from me: I finally have sale price, fees, and trade on separate lines for the 2007 Porsche Cayman. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.
