2008 Honda Accord — buying a car 1,200 miles away without seeing it

2008 Honda Accord EX-L, about 186,000 miles. A hard-to-find spec is several states away. Dealer has provided video and history, but I have not seen it in person. What is the best remote-buy checklist before sending money?

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2008 Honda Accord numbers without them. If they balk, that's your answer. On “buying a car 1,200 miles away without,” that was the fork that mattered for me. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2008 Honda Accord and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

I would not stare at the monthly. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2008 Honda Accord and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. That's the part that actually changes the decision. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.
