2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 — are cars becoming too dependent on one screen or module?

2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT, about 148,000 miles. More basic vehicle functions now route through software and central displays. I like the features, but worry about one electronics failure affecting unrelated systems. Where should physical redundancy remain? I am trying to get the facts straight before spending money.

I'd wait for the actual TSB/recall population, not the headline. Check whether your 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 VIN is actually in the affected batch before you plan a dealer day. That's where I'd start. Do that first. I'll update if anything new shows up.

New-model numbers always look better than curb weight and tire size. On a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, I'd care more about the remedy and downtime than the press wording. Then you'll know the next fork. This is from a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 in North Jersey with 148,000 miles. Stop there until you know. This is the version I'd tell a friend.
